Sportradar to Monitor Betting Irregularities in the Indian Cricket League

Sportradar Integrity Services has signed an agreement with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in order to safeguard the integrity of matches in the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket season.

Sportradar is the biggest supplier of sports integrity solutions and sports data products at the moment, working with all major sports competitions to prevent match fixing and betting irregularities.

All matches that will be played in the 2020 season of the Indian Premier League will be monitored by Sportradar, which will then provide the BCCI with a risk assessment of potential integrity issues related to sports betting.

The cricket league board can also call upon Sportradar to investigate certain matters if they have any suspicion regarding some players or teams. The company has extensive experience in the world of sports, as they have been working with some of the biggest leagues in the world.

Among the company’s clients and partners we can find, among others, all the major professional leagues in the United States: National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), National Hockey League (NHL) and Major League Baseball (MLB).

The stakes are very high in this deal, because cricket is by far the most popular sport in India, and one that attracts a lot of betting activity. India still has a pretty big problem with illegal betting on cricket matches, but in recent years several online casinos that accept Indian players have included cricket betting among their services.
