Quickspin, the slot games studio owned by Playtech, has announced that it will expand its activity into the live casino vertical with the launch of Quickspin Live, a division which will specialize in the creation of live dealer games.
The studio has been around since 2011, when it started to create slot games in Sweden under the guidance of former NetEnt and Unibet directors. Now the supplier is trying to take a step in a different direction, entering the live casino space in order to boost its growth opportunities. Quickspin is now a part of the Playtech group, as Playtech bought the studio back in 2016 for around 50 million euros.
The first live casino title that Quickspin Live will release is going to be Big Bad Wolf Live and it will hit the market around the end of June 2023. The game is obviously based on Big Bad Wolf, one of the best slot games developed by Quickspin. After that launch, the company announced that it aims to release a new live casino title every three months.
Quickspin Live is going to use existing Playtech technology to develop the live casino titles, but ultimately their success will depend on the creativity of the game creators at the studio. The first live casino game will be released through the Playtech Live platform, which will make it available to all operators that are currently using it.
