Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Signs Sportsbook Deal with BtoBet

Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis, the government company and regulatory agency for gambling in the Canadian province, has announced that its online sportsbook will receive several enhancements following a partnership with BtoBet.

PlayAlberta.ca, the website which is operated by Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis, is the only website that offers legal online gambling and sports betting in the Canadian province of Alberta.

The website has been set up in partnership with NeoPollard, the well-known Canadian company, while the deal with BtoBet will take the website’s online sportsbook module to a new level.

The supplier is in fact a subsidiary of NeoGames, the company that also owns NeoPollard, and it will give Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis a fully managed sportsbook system that will help the Canadian online sportsbook expand and develop.

The conversion to the new sportsbook software supplied by BtoBet is expected to be completed by the end of August, allowing punters in the province to enjoy their favorite leagues coming back to action during Autumn.

For BtoBet this deal represents a major achievement as it marks the company’s first ever agreement with a North American operator. Until now, the company had been supplying its services to operators in Europe, Africa and Latin America.

Tsachi Maimon, President and Head of iGaming at NeoGames, declared himself delighted to enter a “long-term partnership with PlayAlberta” and said that the deal will allow the operator to “enhance and expand its sports betting platform and services.”

The NeoGames president also explained that the sports betting platform will feature localized offers, including odds on matches in the Canadian Football League, the Premier Lacrosse League and special bets for several sports which feature well-known Canadian athletes.

Play Alberta is not only focused on sports betting, the website also includes an online casino which features a wide variety of games, including live casino titles. In 2021 , Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis reached an agreement with Evolution, the global leader in live casino software and content, to include some of the supplier’s impressive portfolio on the province’s only legal online casino.
