Playtech, one of the world’s biggest providers of slots and live dealer games for online casinos, has announced the signing of a new partnership with NorthStar Gaming, a Canadian casino operator based in Toronto.
Under the terms of the agreement, Playtech will provide NorthStar its iGaming and sports betting platform to NorthStar Gaming, including casino, live casino, poker and bingo technology.
NorthStar Gaming is looking to deliver its customers a Canadian-focused online casino experience, along with a sports betting platform that is tailored to this specific audience. The operator will still have to pass the final regulatory approvals and go through the licensing process before actually launching its online casino and sportsbook in Ontario.
The province of Ontario is preparing to open its iGaming market to private operators as it is the first Canadian province to establish a licensing system for that purpose. NorthStar Gaming launched in March 2021 as a made-in-Ontario online betting brand, and then the operator decided to team up with local media giant TorStar Corporation.
NorthStar Gaming announced that it is the exclusive Canadian partner of Playtech, hoping that this partnership will make them stand out from the competition. Michael Moskowitz, Chief Executive Officer and founding partner of NorthStar Gaming, added that the “industry-leading suite of tools” provided by Playtech is expected to give the operator “an unmatched edge in the marketplace”.
