Playtech Extends Cooperation With 888 In The United States

Playtech, one of the world’s leading providers of software and content for online casinos, has announced that its cooperation with 888, one of the most prominent online casino brands in the world, has expanded to cover more territories in the United States of America.

The new agreement between the two companies stipulates that Playtech is going to provide both live casino titles and random number generator games to 888casino across several states, starting with New Jersey.

This is not a brand new cooperation, though, as 888casino had already been offering content from Playtech across multiple regulated markets all around the world. Moreover, Playtech also launched Safari Riches Live, an exclusive live dealer game developed for 888casino.

Howard Mittman, the U.S. President at 888, declared that the extended agreement will “enhance overall player experience” as the casino will get to offer “more entertaining and dynamic games”.

Shimon Akad, the Chief Operating Officer of Playtech, described 888 as “trusted partners” and added that the extension of the partnership represented “another exciting step” in the company’s continuous expansion in the United States.

The expanded deal with Playtech comes shortly after 888 announced the completion of its acquisition of William Hill’s non-US assets from Caesars for a total of almost 2 billion pounds. The deal brought famous international online casino brands such as William Hill and Mr Green under the 888 umbrella.

On the other hand, Playtech has been the subject of an acquisition attempt from Aristocrat Leisure Limited, the Australian developer of casino slot machines and digital games. The offer was worth 2.70 billion pounds but the Playtech shareholders eventually decided to reject it as they considered that the offer undervalued the business.

A few months later, Asia-based investment group TTB Partners announced their interest in acquiring Playtech and was given a deadline to submit a concrete offer. As the deadline approached, TTB announced that it would not go forward with the deal because of “challenging underlying market conditions”.
