Evolution Gaming Temporarily Closed Its Live Casino Studio In Tbilisi

In compliance with the latest measures imposed by the Georgian government to confront the spread of Covid-19, Evolution Gaming has temporarily closed its studio in Tbilisi.

While the workforce is going to be significantly reduced, the company will continue with the floor operations in the other eight locations as announced previously.

The state-of-the-art production hub in Tbilisi went live in April 2018, soon after the launch of the purpose-built Live Casino studio in Vancouver, Canada. With 100 employees at the very outset, it became one more important step within Evolution’s strategy of intensive growth.

Commenting on the opening almost two years ago, Evolution Group CEO Martin Carlesund said:

“We are delighted that our latest major Live Casino studio in Tbilisi is now live and fully operational. Tbilisi is a fast-growing city of over 1 million people, offering strong development and investment opportunities, so it offered the perfect location for us. This is a large commitment and project for Evolution and I am proud to see the organization delivering.”

He also added: “At Evolution, we constantly strive to improve our service to our licensees and continue to increase our leadership in Live Casino. The Tbilisi studio is no exception, as we have leveraged knowledge from over 10 years of building studios to create our most advanced facility yet. The new studio is an investment for the future and will support us in our ambitious development plans in the coming years.”

Just a year later, this studio employed almost 1,500 employees, some of them went on strike in August 2019 demanding better pay.

At the moment, the Tbilisi site designed to cater to multiple markets and licensees has to adhere to constantly changing guidelines in regard to coronavirus. Apart from social distancing, the company applies a wide range of other preventive measures such as more frequent and thorough cleaning and disinfection.

Staying in close contact with local health authorities lets Evolution to verify the measures undertaken and be able to reopen the place at the earliest opportunity.

Despite the constantly changing conditions of work…

… dictated by the spread of Covid-19, Evolution continues to deliver its products worldwide without major problems. As already mentioned, the other eight studios adjusted to the current situation making every effort to meet the increased demand for Live tables among the punters of online casinos.
